MINIMUM CHARGES ON RENTALS: The reason for the establishment of minimum charges on rentals has to do with a variety of factors. The cost of the unit is taken into consideration as well as expected labor for demonstration, loading & unloading, cleaning and servicing, expected wear and tear, counter help and contract preparation expenses.

OVERDUE RENTALS: Any rental item that has not been returned within five days of the expected return date listed on the rental contract or that the renter has not been given Cal U-Rent permission to extend the rental period, will be reported missing to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.

RENTAL PERIODS & CHARGES: A rental period is the length of time that a rental is charged. A day rental is for 24 hours on all equipment. A week rental is for 168 hours or seven full days. A month is for 28 days. If a unit is rented at 10:00 AM one morning, if it is returned by 10:00 AM the following morning, it constitutes a day rental. The minimum charge mentioned above is for a period that may be from two to 24 hours. The time depends on the type, use and cost of the equipment. Some party equipment minimum rental periods may be two or three days. This is the time allowed for a minimum charge. Of course, the equipment may be returned at any time prior to the expiration of the minimum time period. If that minimum time period is exceeded, then charges begin to prorate on an hourly basis. The normal minimum charge and time is for four hours usage. By the time that six hours of rental have been reached, the charge is the same as if it was a 24-hour rental. Be sure to check with the Counter if there are any questions pertaining to rental periods or charges.

If a customer cancels a truck reservation within 24 Hours of the SHOW TIME, there will be a $25 charge. If anyone NO SHOWS for a truck reservation, there will be a $50 charge. No shows on equipment reservations may be charged a cancellation fee, depending on the nature of the rental and if we turned down rentals due to the reservation. This is up to the discretion of the Manager.
